The Snapshot tool is designed to enable users to flexibly modify embedded PDF content. Snapshot allows you to cut, copy and alter the color of PDF content. With Snapshot you can remove embedded PDF content, or copy PDF content and paste it elsewhere on your document, in another document or save it to the Markup Library. Content is pasted in a vectorized format meaning it maintains quality at any zoom level.
The Snapshot tool is available on Windows to all Pro Plus and Pro Unlimited plan users.
How to copy and paste content on a PDF
- Select the Snapshot tool
- Drag and select the PDF content that you would like to cut and paste. Your content will automatically be copied to your clipboard
- Use shortcut CTRL + v to paste your content or right click and tap the Paste icon at the top of the right-click menu
How to cut and paste content on a PDF
- Select the Snapshot tool
- Drag and select the PDF content that you would like to cut and paste
- Tap cut or use shortcut CTRL + x
- Use shortcut CTRL + v to paste your content or right click and tap the Paste icon at the top of the right-click menu
How to remove content from a PDF
- Select the Snapshot tool
- Drag and select the PDF content that you would like to remove
- Tap Erase and then OK
How to change the color of snapshotted PDF content
Users can alter the color of embedded elements on their page using the Snapshot tool.
Users can:
- Modify the color of PDF content by cutting and pasting content and then altering its color
- Create new elements from PDF content by copying and pasting content and then altering the color of pasted elements
Users who work with technical drawings and site plans can replicate and set the color of drawing symbols or stamps and then add them to the Markup library for use at any time on any document.
To alter the color of snapshot content:
- Select Snapshot tool and then select the PDF content that you would like to change the color of
- Copy (CTRL+C) or cut (CTRL+X) the content and then paste it onto the canvas (CTRL+V)
- Select Edit Properties and then hover over or select Snapshot Color
- Select the color from the color grid or use the color picker to select a color from your page
Note: Snapshot content is pasted in a vectorized format therefore it will maintain its quality even as it is enlarged. Snapshot content can be resized to-scale by holding SHIFT and then dragging any corner gripper.
