We have included a range of Measurement tools within our Subscriber toolset, to help you better markup, review and complete your technical drawings.
Types of measurements
We have included the following measurement tools:
- Page calibration tool
- Measure Length
- Polylength measurement
- Rectangular area measurement
- Polygon area measurement
Page Calibration
We have provided the page calibration tool which enables you to calibrate your measurements so they are as accurate as possible.
To calibrate your page:
- Select the Calibrate tool from the toolbar
- Click, or click and drag to draw a line to the desired distance
- The app will measure the distance and a modal will appear
- Select Presets and then choose from the dropdown to select from common scales or
Select Custom settings to set your own calibration scale.- You can then enter units that you would like to work with (including in, ft, yd, mi, mm, cm, m and km)
- Enter the actual distance in the second field under Custom settings (Note: if you have set your calibration to be in feet and inches, you can tick the Fractional feet and inches box to work in fractional feet and inches instead of decimals)
- Enter your precision
- Select if you would like to apply to all pages and/or if you would like to make these settings the default across documents
(*You can also manually enter each distance if you already know the scale of the drawing)
Once completed all measurements drawn will have this calibration
Note: You can also tap on the scale key in the bottom left of your canvas to update your calibration settings
Measure Length tool
This tool allows you to measure in straight lines.
To use this tool:
- Select the Measure Length tool from the toolbar/menu
- Select the color, opacity and thickness of the line
- Click and drag your pen, mouse or finger to draw a straight line
- Release your click, and you will see the measurement appear on the document
Note: you can manually change your length and the angle of your length line by tapping and typing in the field where the length and angle measurements appear. If you are using a stylus you can double tap in each field and then write your updated measurements.
Polylength Tool
This tool allows you to measure a length with multiple points
To use this tool:
- Select the Polylength tool from the toolbar/menu
- Select your color, opacity and thickness of the line
- Click to select your starting point
- Navigate to and click each point along the line that you would like to measure
- On the last point click twice to finalise the measurement
Rectangular Area Measurement Tool
This tool allows you to measure the area of a rectangle selection on your document
To use this tool:
- Select the Rectangular Area Measure tool from the toolbar/menu
- Select color, opacity and thickness of the border
- Select the colour and opacity of the fill
- Click and drag to draw the rectangle to the desired size
- Release the click to finalise your measurement
Note: you can manually change the side measurements of your rectangle by tapping and typing in the field where the lengths appear. If you are using a stylus you can double tap in each field and then write your updated measurements.
Polygon Area Measurement Tool
This tool allows you to measure an area that may not be a convential shape
To use this tool.:
- Select the Polygon Area Measurement tool from the toolbard/menu
- Select color, opacity and thickness of the border
- Select the colour and opacity of the fill
- Click to select your starting point
- Click on the page for each point of the polygon
- When you need to close it up click back on the first point and you will see the shape appear
