Marking up a drawing or document is a great way to highlight necessary changes, but sometimes instead of just adding markup, a discussion about something on the drawing is needed instead. Combining markup, pinned comments, and discussions makes your design reviews faster and more efficient!
With Projects, you can have discussions about a drawing or document in the left-hand panel, and others can reply to your thread. Mentioning someone in a comment sends them an email notification with a link to the relevant comment, so they can jump in quickly.
Comments can be edited and deleted, and you can quickly grab a link to a specific comment to share in an email or external conversation, which another project team member can click to immediately open the drawing and highlight your comment.
To add a new comment and start a discussion on the drawing:
- Open the comments panel by clicking or tapping the Comments icon in the left toolbar
- Click or tap on "Add a comment" at the bottom
- Start typing your message to the team
- Click the send icon
To reply to a comment:
- Click Reply underneath the comment you wish to reply to (if there are already replies, this button changes to look something like 3 replies)
- Type into the reply box

Pinned comments
You can also pin a comment to a specific location on the drawing using the comment pin tool up here in the markup toolbar, then clicking or tapping on the canvas and typing your comment. If the pin is in the wrong spot, simply move it. Hovering over a pin shows a preview, and clicking it opens the full comment with replies. You can also move the comment panel without affecting the pin.
To hide pins from view
If you prefer not to see the pins, use the show and hide pin filter down here in the utility bar to toggle between hiding and showing pins.
