The subscription model was introduced quite some time ago for DrawboardPDF but the new design brings this to the forefront and introduces a new way to subscribe via the web.
Please note we haven't taken any capability away from past one off purchase customers and we appreciate their contribution to our product. Over time we will look to release more capability into our base offering.
Version 5 (Old version)
License System
Before the big rebrand, we only had one platform which is the Windows App that uses Microsoft store as the means for users to purchase a subscription.
We only have 2 tiers in our subscriptions:
- Free plan
- Pro
Benefits from purchasing a pro subscription:
- Pro tools
- Document Builder
- Grid Layout
- Colour Picker
- Export Text Review
Accounts System
We only have 1 account system which is the account that you logged in to the Microsoft Store. This Microsoft store account holds your pro license and this will give your Drawboard Windows App the Pro capabilities(e.g. Pro tools, Document builder, Grid layout). Thus, you don't need to sign in to the Drawboard Windows App to get the pro license. A login to Microsoft store is sufficient.
Version 6 (After rebrand)
License System
We now have 2 platforms: Windows App and Web App. Each platforms have their own way to purchase a license:
- Windows App = Microsoft Store
- Web App = Drawboard Subscription page
We now have 3 tiers in our subscriptions:
- Essentials - Free
- Essentials Plus
- Premium
Note: If you have the old pro subscription from the version 5 app, you will directly be given the Essential Plus plan.
Benefits from purchasing a pro subscription:
- Up to 10/20/200 files upload to the cloud
- Up to 40mb/70mb/unlimited PDF's file size uploads to the cloud
- Pro tools
- Document Builder
- Grid Layout
- Colour Picker
- Export Text Review
Accounts System
We now use 2 account systems which are the following:
- Microsoft store account (logged in to Microsoft Store same as v5)
- Drawboard cloud account (logged in to Drawboard Windows app or Web app)
A general rule in our account system is that: One Microsoft store account can only be connected to one Drawboard cloud account. So, we use a method called: First come first serve. Let me give you a scenario:
💡 Let's say you login to your Microsoft store with an email: Drawboard@gmail.com.Then, you install our Drawboard Windows app and login to the Drawboard app with an email: abc@gmail.com.
Then, Drawboard@gmail.com will be connected to abc@gmail.com since it's the first account that is logged in to the Drawboard app. So, any subscription you have on your Microsoft account(Drawboard@gmail.com) will be given to your Drawboard cloud account(abc@gmail.com)
Note: Your Microsoft Store email address doesn't have to be the same with your Drawboard cloud email address since we are using a first come first serve method
Once you have connected your Drawboard cloud account with your Microsoft Store account, then you can try to login to our Web app with the same Drawboard cloud account to get the same subscription. Hence, it is recommended that you first login with our Windows app and then with our Web app.
